Lead the development of AI-driven robot learning systems for physical manipulation tasks, designing data pipelines, policy architectures, and deployment frameworks. Own end-to-end robot learning workflows—from demonstration capture to real-world deployment—while mentoring engineers and solving complex contact-rich manipulation challenges. Requires 5+ years in robotics/ML with expertise in imitation learning, RL, and force control for real hardware deployment.

Key Highlights
Own the full robot learning pipeline: data capture (teleop/VR), labeling, versioning, and evaluation
Develop policy architectures combining vision, force control, and learned/RL-based manipulation for real-world deployment
Solve contact-rich manipulation (e.g., nailing, pressing, deformable materials) with compliance and recovery systems
Key Responsibilities
Define demonstration capture methods using teleoperation rigs (leader arms, VR) and egocentric human task recording
Design and maintain the robot learning data pipeline, including synchronized observations, labeling, dataset versioning, and quality checks
Set policy architecture for shared vision/force backbones with task-conditioned heads, enabling few-shot learning of new skills
Train policies using imitation learning, diffusion models, or transformers, with RL for reward-defined tasks, and deploy in simulation and real robots
Solve manipulation of deformable materials (cables, tape, membranes) and build compliance layers for contact-rich tasks (nailing, pressing, insertion)
Develop the actuate executor layer integrating classical control and learned policies under real-time safety constraints
Lead training/evaluation loops in simulation and hardware, with held-out evaluations gating deployment
Mentor junior engineers while maintaining hands-on production code development and weekly real-robot testing
Technical Skills Required
Python ROS2 Reinforcement Learning (RL) and Imitation Learning
Benefits & Perks
Base salary up to $200k
Equity
Comprehensive benefits
Nice to Have
MS or PhD in Robotics, ML, or Computer Science
Experience with VLAs (Vision-Language Agents) or robot foundation models
Diffusion Policy, ACT, or similar visuomotor architectures
