Lead Rails API Engineer (Intelligence Fabric) - 100% Remote in PAKISTAN

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead API Architect - 100% Remote to unify our backend services into a cohesive, standards-driven API platform and lead the development of our Intelligence Fabric. The Intelligence Fabric will unify business intelligence and artificial intelligence across multiple systems, driving seamless integration and data flow within the organization.

• Architect and deliver a unified API platform that integrates diverse data sources, streamlines operations, and supports the Intelligence Fabric initiative.
• Define and enforce API standards, including naming conventions, versioning, authentication, and error handling.
• Lead the overhaul of current API practices, applying industry best practices to enhance scalability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and engineers, to align API development with business and technical goals.
• Use OpenAPI/Swagger to document and standardize APIs, ensuring clear communication and usability for internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide team members in adopting and excelling in API best practices.
• Monitor API performance and lead continuous improvements to meet growing business needs.
• Stay updated on emerging API technologies and frameworks to maintain a competitive edge.

1. 5 Years in Rails: At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, designing and implementing scalable, maintainable APIs.
2. 3 Years with Service-Level API Design: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing and delivering production-grade service-level APIs. This includes architecting multiple cohesive endpoints, managing authentication, versioning, scalability, and ensuring APIs support real-world workflows and integrations.
3. 2 Years of Leadership and Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to lead API development projects, mentor junior developers, and work collaboratively with product managers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams.
4. 1 Year in OpenAPI/Swagger and Postman: Demonstrated experience in using OpenAPI/Swagger for API documentation, design, and standardization, and Postman for API testing and collaboration.

1. Proficiency in Python and FastAPI, with experience building high-performance APIs.
2. Experience deploying and managing APIs on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
3. Knowledge of microservices architecture and working with API gateways for routing and security.
4. Familiarity with CI/CD tools for automating API testing and deployment.
