This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead product strategy and execution for core software distribution products serving millions of users globally. The Director of Product Management will guide a team of product managers across multiple scrum teams, ensuring the delivery of seamless, user-centered developer experiences. You will define product vision, drive feature prioritization, and foster engagement with both the developer community and enterprise customers. The position requires close collaboration with engineering, developer relations, and cross-functional partners to optimize product-market fit, enhance user retention, and maintain competitive advantage. Ideal candidates are innovative, technically proficient, and passionate about shaping the future of software development in AI and data science ecosystems.

Accountabilities

  • Lead product strategy and roadmap for core distribution products, including desktop applications, notebooks, packages, and installers
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of product managers working across 5-10 scrum teams
  • Drive user engagement and retention through improved UX, feature prioritization, and addressing critical user pain points
  • Establish a unified product vision enabling seamless developer experiences and pathways for enterprise adoption
  • Collaborate with engineering, developer relations, technical enablement, and partnerships teams for effective cross-functional execution
  • Define and track product success metrics, reporting regularly and using data-driven insights to optimize product-market fit
  • Champion user-centered design practices and engage with the developer community to inform product development priorities


Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience building software or products in Python environments
  • Proven track record leading product management teams and collaborating with multiple engineering teams
  • Strong technical background with the ability to discuss complex technical challenges with engineering teams
  • Experience developing developer tools, platforms, or infrastructure products with deep understanding of developer workflows
  • Demonstrated success balancing community/open-source needs with commercial business objectives
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Experience in fast-paced, startup, or technology-focused environments preferred
  • Background in machine learning, data science, or AI product development is a plus
