Hardware Engineer (Maritime/Industry)
Do you enjoy turning complex requirements into clean, buildable electrical designs? Join our client who is a European systems integrator working on advanced vessels and industrial installations. You will translate specifications and regulations into complete drawing packages, coordinate interfaces, and help deliver rock-solid systems that run safely and reliably at sea and on shore.
What you will do:
- Own electrical design & integration from requirements to as-built including schematics, layouts, BOMs, and production documentation.
- Design lighting & safety solutions for high-end environments.
- Develop cable routing/tray & penetration concepts with EMC.
- Support refits and new-builds with calculations, material selection, and on-site problem solving when needed.
Must-have skills:
- Bachelor’s (HBO) in Electrical Engineering (or similar) and experience as a Hardware Engineer.
- Proficiency with E-Plan P8 and AutoCAD; able to maintain standards and deliver complete drawing packages.
- Strong grasp of shipboard/industrial systems, electrical integration, and stakeholder communication.
Nice-to-have (big plus):
- Familiarity with NEN 1010, Machinery Directive, ATEX; classification society & maritime regulatory experience, PLC programming.
- Experience with 3D design for routing/installation planning.
- Background in naval requirements (EMC, shock/vibe, redundancy) and collaboration with classification bodies.
