RESPONSIBILITIES ⚒️

  • Database Management & Optimization – Oversee the administration, maintenance, and fine-tuning of various database systems (SQL and NoSQL) to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Scalability & High Availability – Design robust, fault-tolerant database architectures that can handle high traffic and large-scale operations without performance issues.
  • Security & Data Integrity – Implement strong security measures, including encryption, access control, and backup strategies, to protect data and ensure compliance.
  • Performance Enhancement & Troubleshooting – Continuously monitor and optimize database performance while swiftly addressing incidents to minimize downtime.
  • Collaboration & Leadership – Work closely with development and operations teams while mentoring team members and driving database strategy and innovation.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 💡

  • 8+ years of experience in database administration, with deep expertise in PostgreSQL
  • Deep expertise in relational databases such as PostgreSQL as well as in non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis, Clickhouse, etc).
  • Experience operating databases in cloud environments with a focus on AWS database offerings.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience automating database tasks through scripting and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in distributed databases, including performance tuning and bottleneck analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of security practices including encryption, access control, and fault tolerance.
  • Knowledge of virtualisation and containerisation concepts, including experience working with Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Zabbix and Prometheus for maintaining the performance and health of databases.
  • Experience with Change Data Capturing (CDC) techniques.
