Compiler Engineering Manager - Open Source Software company in the Ethereum ecosystem
A forward-thinking non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the Ethereum ecosystem is looking to hire an Engineering Manager. Their mission is to build open-source software that unlocks developer productivity and accelerates the growth of decentralized applications.
This team are pioneering the future of Solidity development. They are building a modular set of compiler APIs to empower developers to create innovative smart contracts with ease. As a fully remote team operating in a flexible time zone (UTC+2 to UTC-4), they value collaboration, autonomy, and a results-oriented approach.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Build and nurture a high-performing engineering team. Foster a culture of learning, growth, and collaboration. Implement and refine performance management, career development, and hiring processes.
- Product Delivery: Own project execution, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features. Define MVPs, set milestones, and manage project scope effectively. Collaborate closely with product management to align technical roadmap with user needs.
- Strategic Leadership: Provide technical guidance on architectural and design decisions. Communicate the team's vision and goals clearly. Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
- Technical Excellence: Maintain a deep understanding of compiler technology. Conduct code reviews, identify technical risks, and suggest improvements. Mentor engineers on best practices and coding standards.
This position is 100% remote and the location needs to be CEST and up to 3-4 hours from this timezone.
Necessary Skills:
- 3+ years of experience managing and growing engineering teams in a remote or hybrid environment.
- 6+ years of experience leading technical projects with a proven track record of success.
- Strong technical foundation with experience in compiler development or related fields.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with Rust and open source development is a plus.
- Low level programming wuch a C++, Rust etc
