Key Responsibilities
Own technical optimisation of Core Web Vitals, page weight, response times and caching
Run technical audits and implement practical improvements
Design scalable multi-tenant platform capabilities and make complex architectural decisions
Modernise legacy code incrementally while delivering new features
Rapidly diagnose and resolve production issues and complex bugs
Perform root-cause analysis across multiple services and teams
Build and improve triage and incident processes
Influence engineering standards, architecture and ways of working
Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar
Help scale AI-assisted engineering workflows

The company is re-architecting its publishing platform into a white-labelled, multi-tenant product built on Domain-Driven Design. The platform serves over a billion visits a year across 100+ countries. The company is profitable and is investing heavily to transform a platform that already works.
This is not a role where you pick up tickets. We’re looking for a strong Senior or Staff engineer who still codes every day and also sets technical direction.
