Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee major capital transmission/distribution substation projects under senior engineer supervision

Create detailed electrical system layouts, plans, material lists, and construction drawings for substation facilities

Provide entry-to-mid-level engineering support for substation design and electrical equipment upgrades

Anticipate and solve technical problems using standard procedures while adapting to departmental priorities

Prioritize workflow, establish project schedules, and monitor accomplishments with cross-functional awareness

Support system operations during outages and emergencies, including work near energized facilities

Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to Black Hills Energy’s safety policies and stop-work authority

Complete assigned training tasks and proactively seek professional development opportunities
