Key Responsibilities

Design, tune, implement, and validate closed-loop control functions for fluidic systems, such as pressure, flow rate, pump speed, and valve position control

Develop Simulink functions for control logic, sequencing, state machines, mode management, enable logic, limiters, protections, diagnostics, and actuator command generation

Build and use control-oriented models, simulations, and test-data replay workflows to support design and validation

Analyze controller performance, stability, robustness, actuator saturation, sensor limitations, delays, nonlinearities, and operating envelope constraints

Implement practical control features such as PID, feedforward, filtering, gain scheduling, anti-windup, bumpless transfer, and mode-dependent control logic

Support MIL, SIL, HIL, and test-data analysis activities to verify the behaviour of the control application before deployment

Document design choices, assumptions, interfaces, validation results, limitations, and remaining risks

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.We are developing the control application for throttleable rocket engines. The team is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and validating the closed-loop control and operational logic that allows the engine to operate safely and accurately across its operating envelope.
