Network Engineer
Fully Remote (UK based) £45,000-£50,000 + Bonus
Our client, a global payments fintech, is building a modern Technical Operations function and is looking for a hands-on Network Engineer who wants real ownership and influence from the ground up.
You will help design, implement, and operate a hybrid multi-cloud and on-prem environment, working closely with TechOps, DevOps, and InfoSec peers. The focus is on high availability, security, observability, and automation, delivered by small, empowered teams who care about outcomes over process.
What you'll do
- Design, implement and support enterprise network infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments
- Administer and optimise firewalls, routing, switching, load balancing and cloud networking platforms
- Own major incidents, infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle management and capacity planning
- Partner with Engineering, Security and Architecture teams to deliver secure and resilient services
- Support both legacy platforms and newly acquired environments
- Contribute to automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives
What we're looking for

- 2+ years' enterprise network engineering experience
- Strong hands-on Palo Alto experience in production environments
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Panorama-managed firewall estates
- Strong understanding of Layer 2-7 networking, including:
- Routing and switching
- BGP
- VLANs
- VPN technologies
- DNS/DHCP
- NAT
- Experience implementing and supporting Palo Alto security capabilities such as:
- Security Policies
- NAT Policies
- App-ID
- User-ID
- GlobalProtect
- Threat Prevention
- High Availability
- Ability to troubleshoot complex traffic flows and firewall-related connectivity issues
- Automation / Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, Ansible or similar)
