Accountabilities
The Storage Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise storage solutions while ensuring performance, availability, and scalability across diverse infrastructure environments.
- Design, deploy, and operate enterprise storage platforms, including NetApp ONTAP, Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade, and Ceph environments.
- Manage SAN, NAS, and object storage solutions across data center, edge, and cloud infrastructures.
- Develop storage architectures supporting VMware, Kubernetes workloads, database environments, and high-performance applications.
- Implement replication, snapshot, backup, and data protection strategies for critical systems.
- Configure and maintain cloud-tiered storage solutions using technologies such as FabricPool, CloudVolumes, or equivalent platforms.
- Automate storage operations using Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs, and native platform automation capabilities.
- Operate and maintain Ceph clusters, including OSD lifecycle management, CRUSH maps, RGW, RBD, and CephFS.
- Monitor and optimize storage performance, capacity, reliability, and cost efficiency across environments.
- Build observability solutions to identify capacity constraints, performance issues, and infrastructure risks before they impact users.
- Lead storage upgrades, firmware lifecycle management, security patching, and platform improvements while maintaining service availability.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across storage, networking, and host infrastructure layers.
- Evaluate emerging storage technologies and recommend improvements based on industry developments and operational needs.

The ideal candidate is an experienced storage infrastructure professional with strong expertise in enterprise storage platforms, automation, and modern workload integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of enterprise storage engineering experience.
- Deep expertise with NetApp ONTAP or Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade platforms.
- Hands-on production experience managing Ceph environments.
- Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, and object storage technologies and protocols.
- Experience integrating storage solutions with VMware and Kubernetes environments, including CSI drivers.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs.
- Knowledge of storage performance optimization, capacity planning, data protection, and cost management strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities across storage, network, and host systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams.
- Preferred experience with storage certifications such as NCDA, NCIE, or Pure Storage certifications.
- Experience with hybrid cloud storage replication, software-defined storage platforms, petabyte-scale object storage, or AI/ML workloads is a plus.
