Job Description


Role Summary

  • Responsibilities: Be the data-driven partner the Finance team relies on. Translate business needs into analytics, deliver Power BI dashboards, and define meaningful KPIs across functions to inform decisions
  • Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum (please note that we have established salary bands that are determined by your level of educational attainment to ensure a fair and consistent approach for all applicants, eliminating the need for individual negotiations)

About The Role

We are looking for a curious, commercially minded Data Analyst to join our Finance and Operations team and play a key role in how data drives decision-making across the business.

This is more than a reporting role. It's an opportunity to influence strategy, improve performance, and build scalable data solutions that senior leaders rely on.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analyse financial and operational performance to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Define, track and evolve KPIs and key financial metrics
  • Communicate insights clearly through strong data story telling
  • Design and Deliver engaging Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decisions
  • Support forecasting, budgeting and scenario modelling through robust, data-led insights

You will combine strong analytical thinking with hands-on technical expertise, working across tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL (where relevant) and programming languages like Python or VBA. This includes:

  • Using advanced Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, automation and scripting to streamline data processes
  • Applying programming skills to automate workflows, deepen analysis and enhance reporting capabilities
  • Building scalable data models and continuously improving processes through automation and optimisation

Working closely with Finance and the People team, you'll help transform how data is used to plan, forecast and drive performance across the organisation. A core part of the role will involve:

  • Bringing together data from multiple systems, including from multiple systems, including data via APIs across different ERP platforms
  • Creating a single, reliable source of truth to enable consistent and scalable reporting
  • Driving improvements in governance and automation

You'll also have the opportunity to explore emerging technologies, including agentic AI, using intelligent automation and AI-driven workflows to further enhance insight and efficiency.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across the full data lifecycle and is confident both technically and commercially, from extracting and modelling data through to delivering clear, impactful insights.

Requirements

About You

Essential requirements for the role are:

  • Degree in a quantitative field (minimum 2:1 or equivalent). We welcome applications from a diverse range of specialisms, including but not limited to; Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Data Science, Data Analytics
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in data analytics work in a finance context
  • Strong Power BI skills, including building and maintaining dashboards/reports
  • Solid finance/FP&A knowledge, including the ability to define and track KPIs and financial metrics
  • Data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance with a focus on data accuracy and reliability
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and privacy best practices
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling, including the ability to be able to present insights to both finance and non-finance audiences
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Ability to document data sources, transformations, methodologies, and dashboards; maintain data lineage
  • Strong time management, prioritisation, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Desired requirements for the role are:

  • Experience with a coding tool (e.g Python) for advanced analyses or familiarity with statistical methods
  • Proficient SQL for data extraction, joining sources and shaping datasets
  • Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot)
  • FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling
  • Experience designing robust data models (star/snowflake schemas) and scalable analytics solutions
  • Ability to automate/report scheduling and improve dashboard delivery processes
  • Familiarity with data storytelling frameworks and dashboard usability improvement
  • Experience within the ‘'big 4'' professional services networks
