Senior Software Build Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Eindhoven, Netherlands.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Build Engineer who will be responsible for preparing and executing technical work packages while ensuring quality, timely delivery, and adherence to project roadmaps. Your primary focus will be designing, developing, and implementing robust build systems and automation solutions that support scalable software development and continuous integration.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software build systems.
• Develop and enhance Bazel-based build infrastructure and tooling.
• Prepare and execute technical work packages while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

• Improve build performance, reliability, and developer productivity.
• Design and implement build automation, integration, and release processes.
• Collaborate closely with software development teams to streamline development workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve build, dependency, and integration issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software engineering practices and build infrastructure.
• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Communicate technical challenges, solutions, and progress effectively with stakeholders.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in software development and build management.

• Strong hands-on experience with Bazel (mandatory).
• Excellent understanding of Bazel concepts, including: Rules, Macros, Platforms, Remote Build Execution (RBE), Caching, Toolchains, Hermetic builds
• Hands-on programming experience in: Go, Python
• Strong understanding of modern software design and development principles.
• Experience implementing algorithms and writing maintainable, testable code.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience with automated software integration and release processes.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Strong knowledge of Source Code Management (SCM) systems.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and ClearCase.
