The Role

This is a genuine zero-to-one opportunity: there is no existing community, no inherited playbook and no fixed process to follow. Reporting into the Head of Marketing, you will define what community looks like for this business and own the rhythm that keeps it alive. You will work closely with product, marketing and the founder to turn engaged practitioners into trust, advocacy and pipeline. This role suits someone who thrives starting from a blank page, treats growth as a series of experiments, and is comfortable moving fast on a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and grow a community of practitioners from the ground up, setting the tone, norms and daily rhythm that keeps it active
- Drive adoption through community-led growth, partnerships and direct outreach to the testers and developers who use the product
- Run growth as a series of experiments, measuring what moves engagement and signups and doubling down on what works
- Produce video content and host a regular podcast that brings practitioners in and builds the brand
- Host webinars and AMAs with the founder, engineers and customers to move people into and through the product
- Turn customers into advocates, sourcing stories, reference calls and content for a growing advocacy programme
- Champion employee advocacy, helping colleagues show up authentically online
- Represent the voice of the community internally, feeding sentiment and feedback back to product, marketing and leadership
- Partner with the marketing team on content and resources that pull practitioners in

What You'll Need
Essential:
- Proven experience building a community, audience or content channel from scratch, ideally at an early-stage business
- A genuine growth marketing background, with comfort running experiments rather than following a fixed playbook
- Strong writing skills and a natural ear for how practitioners talk
- Comfort working fast and hands-on within a small team, with minimal process
Desirable / Nice to Have:
- Experience launching or running a podcast or webinar series
- Enough technical curiosity to engage credibly with a developer or QA audience (a plus, not a requirement)
