Senior Network Engineer/IT Lead

We're working with a leading proprietary trading firm seeking a Senior Network Engineer / IT Lead to take ownership of its global low-latency network infrastructure.

This is a rare opportunity to lead the network function for a highly technical trading environment where you'll own everything from exchange connectivity and colocation infrastructure through to automation, monitoring and strategic network design.

What you'll be doing

• Own and evolve a global network spanning multiple colocation sites and offices.
• Design, build and optimize low-latency network infrastructure for mission-critical trading systems.
• Manage Arista switching, optical/L1 infrastructure, packet capture systems and high-performance NIC technologies.
• Build best-in-class monitoring, observability and alerting across the network estate.
• Drive automation of network configuration, deployments and operational processes.
• Lead new exchange connectivity projects from planning through certification.
• Oversee office IT infrastructure while acting as the technical owner for the wider network environment.
• Work closely with senior leadership on infrastructure strategy, capacity planning and future growth.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years' experience in network engineering within complex multi-site environments.
• Deep knowledge of routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS, STP).
• Strong experience with Arista networking.
• Background in colocation infrastructure, cross-connects and data centre operations.
• Experience building monitoring, observability and network automation.
• Linux administration skills with Python and/or Bash scripting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to take ownership of critical infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-frequency trading, electronic trading or other latency-sensitive environments.
