Your Mission
We are looking for a Confirmed Backend Software Engineers to join the Booking team at Blablacar.
Booking team mission is to optimise our multimodal (carpool, bus, and very soon train supplies) booking and checkout experience for passengers, by integrating and unifying multiple heterogeneous inventory sources from external partners. As a Backend Engineer, your role will be to work on technical challenges and product feature developments from early-stage conception, to development, testing strategy, deployment in production and monitoring. You will be reporting to Clothilde and working with a fullstack team of 10 engineers.
Your Responsibilities
Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of the Java microservices that serve the team flow for the Blablacar platform and ensure they are scalable, robust and easy to use by frontend developers.
Participate in the whole application lifecycle, from early meetings and design to development, test strategy, and deployment - and of course, monitoring, alerting, and support.
Participate in the definition of the features with the product and design teams to find the most relevant solutions for our members
Interact with people with different roles and backgrounds, and share your technical expertise with a mix of technical, product, and business people
Your Qualifications
You have 3+ years of experience from companies with a strong engineering culture, within a growth context
You are fluent in Java and know frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, and Mockito
You have hands-on experience with Git, Docker, and Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions (Datadog)
You know what service-oriented architecture looks like, and you can determine when to apply a given architectural pattern
You have good communication skills and you're definitely a team player, being eager to share and learn from your teammates and to grow altogether as a team
You are able to take ownership, aligned with business priorities
Full working proficiency in English
