Azure Data Architect (Lost) in the
United States.
As an Azure Data Architect, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and delivering large-scale data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. This is a highly hands-on opportunity, with a focus on building modern data warehouses, analytics pipelines, and AI/ML model execution workflows. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, product owners, and project managers to ensure scalable, high-performance data architectures that meet enterprise requirements. The role offers a chance to influence engineering standards, mentor peers, and contribute to the growth and maturity of the analytics and AI ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with deep experience in Azure, Python, and BI technologies, who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
Accountabilities
- Design and develop large-scale data warehouses and pipelines within Azure, supporting near real-time analytics and AI applications
- Build and maintain Azure ML model execution pipelines to operationalize machine learning workflows
- Evangelize engineering design and development standards across the team
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and product demonstrations
- Author efficient, maintainable code and unit tests following best practices
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth and technical excellence of the engineering group
- Maintain technical documentation and communicate progress, risks, and issues proactively to stakeholders
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed data architectures for BI and OLTP systems
- 10+ years of experience designing and implementing data pipelines
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure data services and Microsoft SQL technologies
- Experience with data integration using ETL/ELT tools and APIs (REST/SOAP/Web Services)
- 5+ years of experience with Python, including object-oriented programming, unit testing, parallel processing, and data analysis libraries
- Advanced data modeling skills and experience with multi-tenant architectures, messaging systems, and diverse data processing engines
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence
- Knowledge of SOA and Microservices architecture
- Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree preferred
