Data analysis is the process of gathering, analyzing, inspecting, and transforming data into meaningful content with the intention of deriving conclusions and helping with decision making. The role of a data analyst is conducting data analysis- gathering, analyzing, modelling, and transforming the data into a structure that can be comprehended by the people who wish to work on it for a specific purpose.
Responsibilities
- Collect data from diverse sources and maintain them
- Build and deploy data collection systems
- Identify and analyze trends and patterns in complex datasets using various statistical techniques
- Analyze the outcomes to produce valuable insights
- Monitor the quality of data
- Identify, evaluate and make use of novel tools for data validation and cleansing
- Define novel data collection strategies as per business needs
- Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing
- Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports
- Making recommendations on how the organisation can best use the data they have collected to their advantage or making suggestions as to what new data they should collect
- Looking at how businesses in similar industries are using their data analysis tools
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in computer science, statistics, or information systems or in a relevant discipline.
5 – 6 years of work experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
