Vulnerability Analyst - Mid (REMOTE)

Job Description

As a Vulnerability Analyst, you will collaborate with a talented team of professionals to help ensure the security and compliance of enterprise databases supporting federal IT environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Performing vulnerability scans on databases to identify known security weaknesses, misconfigurations, and compliance issues.
• Coordinating network and database scans with internal stakeholders and field points of contact.
• Reviewing and validating scan targets, IPs, and policies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitoring scan progress, troubleshooting issues, and verifying the integrity of scan data.
• Developing and improving testing processes and scanning methodologies.
• Producing detailed vulnerability and compliance assessment reports.
• Performing quality assurance reviews of scan results and reports before distribution.
• Creating and maintaining reporting templates and performance metrics to track database security posture.
• Managing backend systems, virtual machines, and scanning infrastructure.
• Supporting systems across Windows, Unix, and Linux environments.
• Administering and maintaining database scanning tools and virtual infrastructure.
  
  

What Makes You Great

• Broad technical knowledge of Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with scanning tools such as Nessus, Tenable Security Center, NMAP, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AzureSQL, AWS RDS, etc.).
• Positive attitude (required).
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks i.n a high-pressure environment.

What You Know

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience conducting database or system vulnerability assessments.
  
  

What You Have to Have

• Strong understanding of vulnerability management and database security best practices.
• Working knowledge of ports, protocols, and common network services.
• Experience managing virtual environments (e.g., VMware).
• Prior experience supporting federal information systems (preferred).
• Must be a US Citizen, with the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
• Some travel may be required.
