About the Role
We’re looking for a Data Engineer with a passion for clean energy, data science, and advanced analytics. You’ll work with a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers to manage and interpret experimental and production data, build automation pipelines, and develop predictive models that improve battery performance and manufacturing processes.
This is a fully remote role with collaboration across multiple technical domains - ideal for someone who enjoys applying data engineering skills to real-world sustainability challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated data pipelines integrating test, manufacturing, and sensor data.
- Clean, validate, and structure large experimental datasets for analysis and reporting.
- Develop machine learning and statistical models to predict battery performance, degradation, and reliability.
- Create dashboards and visualizations that turn complex datasets into actionable insights for R&D and operations.
- Work with engineers and scientists to define data requirements and ensure accuracy and traceability across projects.
- Contribute to the development of best practices for data collection, version control, and metadata management.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and automation.
- Experience with machine learning, data wrangling, and ETL pipeline development.
- Understanding of experimental or sensor data (e.g., test data, time series, or multivariate systems).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across R&D, production, and quality teams.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience in battery technology, energy systems, or manufacturing analytics.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of predictive modeling, simulation integration, or real-time monitoring systems.
