Enterprise Data Architect:
Our client is seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design and governance of scalable, organization-wide data strategies. This role is ideal for a mission-driven technology leader passionate about enabling data-driven decision-making, fostering collaboration, and building high-performing teams. The successful candidate will design and oversee data architecture frameworks that support internal business systems, enhance operational analytics, and ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
This role is fully remote.
Enterprise Data Architect Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data architecture across internal systems and cloud platforms.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data models, integration frameworks, and architectural roadmaps that align with organizational goals.
- Build and manage a Data Architecture & Governance Team, defining structure, roles, and success metrics to support long-term program development.
- Establish and enforce data governance standards, policies, and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and accessibility of data assets.
- Design and oversee integration between Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, and other core business platforms to optimize data flow and interoperability.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions supporting analytics and reporting.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, propose platform enhancements, and guide architectural decision-making to advance organizational data maturity.
- Collaborate with information security and compliance teams to align architecture with privacy laws, data protection policies, and industry best practices.
- Mentor technical staff, promote professional development, and champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and innovation.
- Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for enterprise data systems and initiatives.
Enterprise Data Architect Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or enterprise data management roles.
- 5+ years designing and implementing large-scale data solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure data services and Salesforce integrations.
- Demonstrated experience developing and leading technical teams or governance programs.
- Advanced proficiency in data modeling (dimensional, relational, and Salesforce), data lineage, and master data management.
- Expertise with Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, SQL Database, Power BI, and Salesforce Data Cloud or related technologies.
- Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Cognos.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Java).
- Experience aligning architectural design with data privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, or equivalent).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects.
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, Salesforce Data Architect, or similar credentials.
- Experience working within education, public sector, or research environments.
- Knowledge of Agile, SAFe, or Lean development methodologies.
- Familiarity with education data standards and compliance frameworks.
