This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and scale a high-performing Software Engineering in Test team, ensuring the delivery of robust, high-quality software products. The Manager, SDET will oversee the development and execution of quality strategies, manage test automation initiatives, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to maintain production reliability and accelerate release cycles. Accountabilities
As a Manager, Software Engineering in Test, you will:
- Define and implement comprehensive test strategies and test plans for critical applications
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites for key business flows in a CI/CD environment
- Collaborate with development, product, and release teams to integrate testing practices and ensure delivery quality
- Monitor production releases, validate deployment success, and propose improvements based on incident analyses
- Lead defect tracking, postmortems, and quality reporting through dashboards for visibility and decision-making
- Mentor and guide SDET team members, providing technical leadership and fostering skill development
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in quality engineering
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 12+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, preferably in front-office applications for investment banking or wealth management
- Proven experience leading SDET teams and managing delivery outcomes across multiple products
- Strong knowledge of software testing principles, including black box and white box testing
- Hands-on experience with acceptance criteria-based test design and execution
- Expertise in Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Databricks, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
- Knowledge of equity products, product lifecycle, and DORA metrics
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to work effectively with global teams
