Senior System Engineer in United State

A leading enterprise in the warehouse and distribution solutions space (company name confidential) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in VMware and cloud infrastructure. This is a fully remote consultant opportunity with competitive compensation and the ability to work on cutting-edge infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and maintain VMware and other virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, Docker, etc.)
• Manage infrastructure in hybrid environments (on-premise + AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Administer core Windows/Linux infrastructure: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs
• Automate infrastructure tasks using Ansible, Terraform, and PowerShell
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across server, storage, network, and cloud layers
• Collaborate with security and DevOps teams to align with best practices
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline enhancements and infrastructure-as-code workflows

Key Qualifications:

• 15+ years of hands-on systems engineering/infrastructure experience
• 10+ years of recent, focused experience with VMware technologies
• 10+ years in Windows Server and/or Linux system administration
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Expertise in automation and IaC tools: Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell
• Strong understanding of networking, IAM, and cloud security
• Preferred Certifications:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
