About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced (Senior) Staff Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the technical strategy for enterprise data systems, utilizing Snowflake and dbt to ensure scalable and extensible data architectures aligned with our long-term business objectives. You will provide architectural leadership, guiding the development and optimization of data pipelines, Snowflake environments, and dbt transformations. This position combines strategic vision with hands-on technical execution, requiring you to design robust data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and operational needs. As a key member of our data team, you will lead through analysis, design, collaboration, and mentorship, driving data excellence across multiple domains including analytics and reporting, data integration, governance and compliance, and operational data. Your expertise will help elevate our data infrastructure, ensuring high-quality, discoverable, and secure data assets that empower decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 10-12 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields, with a strong focus on designing enterprise data systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with modern cloud-based data platforms, especially Snowflake, including SQL scripting, virtual compute, data ingestion, change data capture, and data sharing
  • At least 3 years of experience with modern data transformation frameworks, preferably dbt, focusing on modular modeling, incremental processing, automated testing, and documentation
  • Proven experience leading data projects from inception to completion and mentoring data engineers or analysts
  • Deep understanding of building scalable data architectures such as data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouses
  • Experience with data pipelines and integrations using tools like Fivetran, Airflow, or Matillion
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, security practices, and compliance frameworks including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA within Snowflake and dbt environments
  • Experience contributing in Agile environments and building cloud data solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to grasp the big picture while focusing on critical details
  • Natural problem-solving mindset, applying first principles to develop meaningful solutions

  • Provide architectural leadership across data engineering teams, systems, and business units, focusing on scalable data platform solutions
  • Design and connect data systems to ensure high-quality, discoverable, and accessible data for analytics, operations, and product teams
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the data stack, addressing governance, compliance, performance, and advanced analytics needs
  • Mentor and elevate team expertise in cloud data architecture, transformation workflows, and data modeling best practices
  • Contribute to the design, review, and optimization of schemas, data models, and pipelines to ensure efficiency and reliability
  • Support quality assurance, validation, and performance testing to maintain data system reliability and functionality
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and innovative solutions to continuously improve data infrastructure
