Job Title: Software Product Owner

Location: Remote (Ireland-based)

Type: Full-time


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Product Owner to join our team. You will play a key role in driving product development and delivery, working closely with stakeholders, business teams, and development squads. This position is remote, but applicants must be based in Ireland.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is clearly defined, prioritised, and aligned with business goals.
  • Translate business requirements into well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and communicate the product vision.
  • Work closely with Agile teams, ensuring alignment with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) practices.
  • Participate in PI (Program Increment) planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews.
  • Ensure features deliver real business value, balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
  • Act as the key decision-maker on product functionality and priority within the team.
  • Monitor delivery progress and adjust backlog priorities as needed.
  • Advocate for agile ways of working and contribute to continuous improvement within teams.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in a software development environment.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies and SAFe.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, UX, and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to articulate vision and priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected to a distributed team.
  • Must be based in Ireland with the right to work.


Nice to Have

  • Background in software engineering, business analysis, or product management.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and SaaS products.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), CSPO).
