Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Senior System Architect to support the design and development of advanced command, control, communications, and intelligence (C4I) platforms within our defense technology division. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in secure communication infrastructures and thrive in a dynamic, mission-critical environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Translate complex operational and stakeholder demands into detailed technical solutions.
• Design robust, scalable communication architectures optimized for security, bandwidth, and latency across various transmission technologies including satellite links and tactical radios (HF/VHF/UHF).
• Align system design with stringent defense compliance standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461).
• Define and manage both internal module interfaces and system-level external integration points.
• Engineer IP-based networking solutions that integrate secure wireless communications and encryption protocols.
• Develop and validate custom and standard military-grade communication protocols, ensuring seamless system performance.
• Elicit, analyze, and trace system-level requirements down to subsystems and components, factoring in domains such as cybersecurity, logistics, safety, reliability, hardware, and software.
• Lead technical requirement decomposition and traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Facilitate technical reviews and design validations to ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations and compliance mandates.
• Identify system-level risks and formulate risk mitigation strategies throughout the design and integration phases.
• Integrate commercial and custom-developed technologies into cohesive battlefield network environments.
• Work collaboratively across engineering functions including simulation, software, integration, validation, quality assurance, and configuration control.
• Provide regular updates and technical insights to Systems Engineering leadership.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational background: BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer, Software, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, or Applied Mathematics.
• Minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience in the field of defense communications systems.
• Deep understanding of military-grade communication technologies and secure protocol standards.
• Familiarity with certified military encryption systems and compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience developing complex defense solutions under structured lifecycle methodologies such as the V-Model.
• Proficiency in systems engineering methodologies in accordance with INCOSE or NASA standards.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools/languages such as SysML or UML.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture methodologies (e.g., DoDAF, TOGAF, NAF).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders.
• Capable of producing and delivering comprehensive technical documentation to a range of audiences.
• Strategic mindset with systems-level thinking and the ability to synthesize holistic solutions.
• Ability to adapt quickly and remain productive under time-critical conditions.
• Strong command of English (spoken and written), at upper-intermediate level or higher.

Desirable Experience:

• Involvement in the architecture or delivery of aerospace or defense-grade platforms.
• Experience with requirements traceability and management systems, such as IBM DOORS.
• Familiarity with network emulation environments and RF diagnostics tools.
• Exposure to electronic warfare systems and cybersecurity frameworks within defense contexts.
