Software Engineering Manager in LUXEMBOURG

EVONA is partnered with a cutting-edge company specializing in advanced satellite technology. This company provides critical data for monitoring Earth’s water resources, using state-of-the-art satellite systems to improve global water management and sustainability efforts.

In this role, you will:

• Take on a hybrid role, splitting your time 50/50 between hands-on software development and leadership responsibilities.
• Lead a team of engineers, mentoring them in best practices while driving the development of scalable services such as REST APIs and WebSockets.
• Oversee and contribute to the creation of multi-environment CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth testing, deployment, and operational efficiency.
• Stay at the forefront of technology by exploring and integrating new tools and platforms, including Python data science libraries, JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, and containerization/orchestration systems like Docker, Kubernetes, and Argo.
• Play a key role in architectural decision-making for projects involving relational and NoSQL databases, microservices, and cloud-native solutions.
• Own the entire software development life cycle (SDLC) — from design and development to deployment and monitoring — ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable solutions.
• Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to ensure project success, fostering strong communication and alignment across departments.

To be successful, you will need:

• 10+ years of software development experience
• Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams, with a track record of leading projects from inception to deployment.
• Hands-on expertise in modern development practices, including CI/CD, cloud services, microservices, and containerisation technologies.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members while remaining actively involved in technical development.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for learning and integrating new technologies.
