Position

Searching for a great Senior Systems Engineer to join our team of engineers and architects. You will act as an escalation point for level 2 and 3 generalists and junior systems engineers, and work both independently and with other IT professionals and systems engineers to complete projects. You should be adaptable, able to jump into an environment and quickly understand what must be done. This role requires strong systems architecting and engineering experience; networking experience is a plus.


Responsibilities

  • Architect, configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and manage IT systems such as VMWare infrastructure, Windows Servers, web servers, Active Directory, O365, and storage systems
  • Effectively troubleshoot IT-related issues in multiple unique client environments
  • Analyze system environments and provide solutions for improvement and best practices
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Provide feasibility and schedule estimates in presales calls
  • Participate in product research and implementation
  • Provide training to technicians and other members of the team
  • Plan and execute system projects
  • Manage systems access
  • Stay up-to-date with industry tools and practices, and upgrade systems with new releases
  • Be available for occasional migrations and other needs after-hours
  • Take on other responsibilities as needed


Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of being responsible for systems architecture
  • 10+ years supporting and troubleshooting systems and infrastructure
  • Professional certifications in systems, cloud, backup (VMWare, Microsoft, Cisco, Veeam) (preferred)
  • Degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (preferred)


Experience preferred with:

  • MSPs, data centers, and/or other multi-tenant environments
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and management of environments such as VMware Horizon, Citrix, and MS Remote Desktop Services of 75+ users
  • VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, Horizon View)
  • Setting up and administering Windows DFS/ADFS, Active Directory, Group Policies, Exchange
  • TrueNAS
  • vSAN
  • Security fabrics including EDR and DNS
  • Databases
  • Complex networks such as physical and virtual VLANs
  • Various Windows operating systems and platforms
