Bioinformatics Software Developer in ARMENIA

BostonGene Corporation is pioneering the use of biomedical software for advanced patient analysis and personalized therapy decision-making in the fight against cancer.

We're seeking a Bioinformatics software developer (Middle) to join our Bioinformatics pipelines clinical integration division in the Molecular Oncology sector.

Our team focuses on automating and streamlining the analysis of NGS laboratory data. This role will focus on developing and maintaining the NGS bioinformatics pipeline in the form of CWL workflows consisting of Dockerized microservices written mostly in Python running on AWS instances.

Responsibilities:

• Development of new bioinformatics pipeline components, writing scalable code using Python programming language.
• Maintenance of existing code base, and performance optimization.
• Design scalable, maintainable, and well-tested commercial-grade software for the automation and support of pipeline verification.
• Maintain written policies/procedures and records of Bioinformatics Pipeline Software for CLIA/CAP compliance.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's (or higher) degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of commercial Python development experience.
• Understanding of NGS molecular process from library preparation to base calling, experience in transcriptomics and/or genomics data processing.
• Experience working with large data sets or next-generation sequencing data is required.
• Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Singularity, Kubernetes) is preferred.
• Conversational level of English and Russian languages.
• Attention to detail, time management, and analytical thinking.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Experience with R programming language and/or Python modules for NGS data processing (pysam, pyfastx, etc.).
