Job Title: SAFe Scrum Master

Location: Halifax, NS (Permanent remote work accepted from anywhere in Canada; preference for EST and CST-based resources)


Job Description:

As a SAFe Scrum Master, you will coordinate and coach two Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) scrum delivery teams, ensuring all activities follow the Scrum Framework principles. You will work closely with teams to iteratively and incrementally deliver value. The Scrum Master will drive the team’s preparation for PI Planning and oversee the execution of commitments. Creating an empowering environment with a focus on accountability, adaptability, and collaboration will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold teams accountable for delivery, continuous improvement, and Scrum values.
  • Make work visible and proactively remove any impediments to maximize team productivity.
  • Facilitate and own team ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Prepare and facilitate team breakouts during PI Planning sessions.
  • Ensure team readiness for System Demos and Inspect & Adapt sessions.
  • Facilitate coordination between teams and external dependent teams.
  • Mentor the Product Owner and team in best practices for user story creation, prioritization, and Product Backlog refinement.
  • Collect and use data/metrics to track team capacity, velocity, and predictability.
  • Coach teams new to Agile and Scrum on mindset, principles, and practices.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to enhance Agile practices across the organization.
  • Operate with considerable autonomy, determining objectives and approaches.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master.
  • 7+ years working with Agile methodologies in large, technically complex environments.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor teams.
  • Expertise in facilitating the removal of impediments.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), IC Agile Team Facilitator (ATF), SAFe Agilist, or SAFe Scrum Master.
  • Experience with Agile Tracking tools (preferably Azure DevOps).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience working with Cybersecurity teams.
  • Experience with both development and non-development Scrum teams.
  • Experience in a Scaled Agile (SAFe, LESS, etc.) environment.
  • Advanced certifications like Certified Scrum Professional or SAFe Practice Consultant.
  • Experience with Portfolio Tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Align.
