My client in London is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate with the right attitude and proven aptitude to join Dev/Ops team comprising platform, development, UI and QA engineers developing solutions at the heart of commercial radio and the burgeoning global media sector. You’ll be responsible for building/maintaining our cloud infrastructure, as well as assisting the team in the CI/CD of code, by way of pipelines and liaising with customers on the process of managing infrastructure within their own AWS environments.
DevOps has been covered by one of their Software Engineers for the past few years who’s done a great job but they now need them to focus on Software Engineering.
This person will need to be fairly senior but at the same time not so senior they expect to grow a team in the near future as they will be the only DevOps resource.
Key skills – AWS, Terraform and CI/CD
They will have to be happy completing the ‘AWS DevOps professional certification’ in their first 6 months which will be fully funded by the company.
Their SaaS platform is provided online to their clients and on their sites and in some instances, they actually end up managing their enterprise clients hosted cloud hence the need for the above certification.
Role is fully remote
Responsibilities
Managing Control Tower access for developers and QA’s
Writing and maintaining IaC templates
Monitoring and diagnosing issues in a development/live environment
Assisting customers in deploying templates to their own clouds
Updating existing infrastructure with the latest improvements from AWS
Continuously updating/tightening security polices, in response to new features from the
development team
Implementing quality-of-life improvements for the developers and QA’s
Writing/monitoring CI/CD pipelines.
Deploying new code-bases to AWS
Working with developers to create a serverless cloud environment
Ensuring the platform meets the requirements of a well-architected design, is robust, scalable,
high-performance and highly resilient.
Ensuring the platform cost-optimized and to work with the team to understand the cost/benefit
analysis of design considerations.
Ensuring resilience is baked into both platform design and operational processes to guarantee
uptime and zero single points of failure
Lead the team in their exploration of related AWS technologies (such as Content Delivery
Network, Speech Recognition, Machine Learning) and how these could be brought to bear in our application development goals.
Skills / Attributes Required
Minimum of a BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is required
