With ‘Hapag-Lloyd LIVE’, our container digitalization project, we aim to create the world's smartest container fleet and set a new standard of operational efficiency and service quality for our customers. Hapag-Lloyd LIVE enables near real-time location and condition monitoring through IoT devices installed on our entire container fleet. We, the Smart Container Monitoring Team in IT Equipment, enable fast ingestion of the massive data coming from the containers and prepare it for consumption of various other HL systems and projects via our AWS cloud platform. Architecture consists of the following main components: - Push Rest API which is used to receive incoming messages from 3rd party providers - Kafka which is used to share IoT data with various internal teams - Kinesis Streams which are used to ingest incoming data and push it to downstream services - Lambda Functions which are used to transform the data from Kinesis and prepare it for DB storage - Timestream DB which is used to store IoT messages - Pull Rest API which is used alongside Query Lambdas to get adequate data from the Database and send it to other HL projects
