Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer (MME)

As “Mechanical Engineer - Manufacturing” you are responsible for ensuring the manufacturability of newly developed parts and outsourced (sub)assemblies.

Also, you will be involved in pre-selecting the right vendors and ensuring that vendors have the required technical competences in house, needed to produce good quality parts. You are playing an important role in the quotation process (RFQ).


In this position you are contributing to the development of new products and issue solving on in-production products. Due to our in-house developmentteam and production in Oegstgeest (Leiden), you have the chance to work in close cooperation with the Design Engineers, Process Engineering team, Tool Shop, and other disciplines. You will report to our Lead MME.



Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with interest for cycling and sports, who is passionate to fulfill our goals to have products launched to market in a more frequent pace, and who is able to help transform product designs into manufacturable parts and assemblies.


What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • Develop indoor trainers and accessories in close cooperation with the Design Mechanical Engineers.
  • Communication with (internal & external) suppliers about the manufacturability of parts and (sub)assemblies (Design for Manufacturing).
  • Engage with manufacturers and ensure part/sub-assembly quality.
  • Create request for quotation (RFQ) according to defined specifications and keep track of costs development.
  • Support resolving mechanical related issues from the production line.


What do we expect from you?

  • Few years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or similar in combination with technical Bachelor Degree
  • Expertise in injection molding, sheet metal, machined parts and surface treatments.
  • Knowledge of designing for manufacturability (DFM), assembly and reliability.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and tolerance analysis.
  • Knowledge of 3D and 2D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Good communication skills in English and preferably Dutch.
  • It is seen as a plus if you share our passion for cycling and sports.
  • You are genuinely curious and constantly striving to learn.
  • As a person you are proactive, creative, flexible, detail-oriented, pragmatic.
