Key Responsibilities
Design, build, test and maintain embedded C/C++ for the payload
Define software architecture, modules, interfaces, timing, task scheduling and OS configuration
Define and verify interfaces between software and FPGA logic
Build in fault tolerance for space
Run hardware-in-the-loop testing and bring software up on real payload electronics
Write test strategy, automated regression suites and documentation
Investigate anomalies and drive root cause to fix
Help choose processors, SoCs and RFSoC platforms
Build software that controls and monitors ground test equipment
Review code and designs, and coach less experienced engineers

About the opportunity
Our client is a well-funded Abu Dhabi space technology company building a spaceborne radar payload. They need a senior embedded software engineer to write the flight software that runs the instrument: reliable, real-time code that has to work in orbit, where nobody can walk over and reboot it.
You will work shoulder to shoulder with the FPGA, RF, hardware and test teams, and you will own the software from architecture through to integration with the payload electronics. You will also mentor junior engineers.
