Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js and TypeScript for loan origination workflows
Optimize database schemas and queries across PostgreSQL and MongoDB, implementing caching strategies for high-throughput workloads
Build, test, and deploy containerized applications with Docker and operate services on AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, SQS)
Partner with DevOps to enhance CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and observability (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting)
Champion system reliability, performance, and secure coding practices in a SOC 2 Type II environment handling sensitive borrower data
Serve as the engineering point of contact for production escalations, triaging issues, and implementing permanent fixes
Coordinate with India-based engineering teams on feature development, code reviews, and design alignment
Lead technical design sessions, mentor mid-level engineers, and contribute to architectural roadmaps

Job Description
- Location: Hybrid from our San Ramon, CA office (3 days a week) preferred; Will consider 100% remote for non-local candidates (core work hours 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pacific Time)
- Compensation: The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 – $180,000 + up to 15% performance-based bonus. The position is eligible for performance-based equity compensation.
- Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
