Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain HIL test environments for propulsion systems, from ECU board level to integrated subsystems

Define and implement hardware/software architecture for propulsion HIL benches, including signal conditioning, fault-insertion hardware, and real-time targets

Integrate real-time plant models (e.g., feed systems, valves, pumps, combustion chambers) into NI VeriStand and close the loop with engine control units

Emulate sensors (e.g., pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow meters) and actuators (e.g., valve drivers, motor inverters) with flight-representative electrical characteristics

Develop LabVIEW-based applications for real-time platforms (e.g., PXI, cRIO) and implement fault injection for engine start-up, shutdown, and FDIR verification

Automate test execution, data acquisition, and reporting using NI TestStand, ensuring traceability and reproducibility

Validate and correlate simulation models against engine test data, collaborating with propulsion and embedded-software teams

Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture specs, interface definitions, and user guides

Debug and troubleshoot across HIL benches, models, and unit under test, continuously improving the test platform

Technical Skills Required

LabVIEW (desktop and real-time) NI VeriStand Real-time systems and control loops

The engine integrates e-pumps, power electronics, valves, embedded software, and control systems. We are seeking a Hardware-in-the-Loop Engineer to develop and operate HIL platforms for verifying the ECU, PDU, Valve Controller, inverter, electric pumps, and associated software. You will connect real hardware to real-time simulations, automate testing and data analysis, and develop emulator hardware for sensors, actuators, interfaces, and subsystem behaviour.
