Key Responsibilities
Manage employment compliance requirements for hiring in new states and countries, including payroll tax and pay transparency rules
Track headcount thresholds to ensure compliance with laws such as Title VII, ADA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA, EEO-1, and WARN
Set and review employee classifications (contractor vs. employee, exempt vs. non-exempt)
Own company policies, employee handbook, and required reporting
Lead high-risk employee matters including investigations, terminations, and leave cases
Own and evaluate HRIS, payroll, and people platforms to support company growth
Design and manage benefits strategy, plan design, budget, and broker relationships
Shape compensation philosophy, salary bands, and equity guidelines
Coach and develop the People and Talent teams
Partner with leadership on headcount planning, org design, and people strategy
