Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for the Testbed Optics group, setting direction for design, execution, and optimization of advanced optical experiments and system builds
Take ownership of optical system architecture, including free-space optics, fiber optics, laser systems, interferometry, alignment, stability, and noise reduction
Mentor and coach optics team members, guiding experimental plans, problem-solving, and capability development in quantum optics
Establish and maintain best practices for optical design, experimental execution, automation, documentation, and knowledge transfer
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nanofabrication, electronics, mechanical engineering, software, AMO physics) to define integrated test plans and resolve system-level trade-offs
Review experimental results, identify technical risks, and guide the team toward evidence-based next steps
Communicate complex technical information clearly through design reviews, reports, presentations, and cross-functional discussions
