Key Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, reconcile, and resolve departmental payroll activities including transactions, registers, and employee compensation
Coordinate visa and immigration processes for international employees, scholars, visitors, and affiliated individuals as primary departmental contact
Serve as liaison between JILA and centralized CU Boulder offices including ISSS and HR for visa and immigration matters
Track visa, appointment, and authorization timelines and deadlines; monitor expiration dates and initiate renewals or extensions
Coordinate personnel actions including hires, transfers, appointment changes, compensation changes, performance bonuses, leaves, and terminations
Maintain accurate employee and position records and confidential personnel documentation in compliance with university policies
Assist employees and supervisors in resolving routine payroll questions and problems
Enter payroll expenditures into departmental financial records and coordinate corrections with appropriate campus offices
Support onboarding and offboarding activities for assigned job classifications
Develop and maintain procedures, checklists, and reference materials for recurring personnel processes
Identify recurring payroll problems and recommend process improvements
Perform other departmental administrative duties related to personnel and employee operations
Technical Skills Required
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Payroll administration Visa and immigration compliance
