Financial Data Engineer - Chinese Equity Data

Data Engineer - Singapore/Hong Kong - Alternative investment firm | Up to $250,000 USD

I’m working with a leading investment firm that is expanding its data and AI capabilities across Asia. They’re now looking for a Financial Data Engineer with strong experience working with Chinese equity data - particularly Wind.

You’ll play a key role in building the data infrastructure that supports fundamental research, working across large financial datasets and making complex market and company data clean, reliable and usable.

What the role demands

3+ years in Data Engineering / Financial Data / Data Platforms

Strong Python & SQL

Hands-on experience with Chinese equity / financial data

Strong Wind experience - APIs, datasets, data structures and troubleshooting

Solid understanding of data modelling, pipelines, cleaning & normalization

Experience with financial data vendors such as Wind, Bloomberg or FactSet

What you'll be doing

Build and improve data pipelines for financial and market datasets

Work extensively with Chinese equity data, including Wind

Clean, structure and normalize complex financial data for research and AI applications

Solve data challenges across companies, securities, entities, corporate events and time series

Work closely with researchers, analysts and engineers to deliver the data they need

Improve data quality, reliability, lineage and accessibility

Help build a scalable AI-ready data layer bringing together internal and external sources
