Senior C++ Software Engineer | Low-Latency Trading Systems | Shanghai

Are you a strong C++ engineer interested in solving some of the most demanding performance and systems challenges in technology?

I’m partnering with a leading global proprietary trading firm that is making a significant investment in its Shanghai engineering team . You’ll help design and optimise the globally distributed platform behind its automated trading business, working closely with exceptional engineers, traders, and researchers.

This opportunity is open to candidates currently based in Shanghai and internationally . Full visa sponsorship and relocation support are available for outstanding engineers genuinely committed to building their careers in Shanghai.

Mandarin is not required. Strong English-speaking engineers are encouraged to apply, provided they are serious about relocating to and working in Shanghai. Mandarin would be beneficial, but technical ability, communication skills, and long-term motivation are the priorities.

Finance Experience Is Not Required

You do not need previous trading or financial-markets experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, build, and deploy services across a globally distributed automated trading platform.
• Develop high-throughput, low-latency systems using modern C++.
• Build infrastructure that runs machine-learning models on high-performance servers.
• Optimise latency, throughput, reliability, and execution quality.
• Make architectural decisions and own major projects from design through production.
• Work directly with traders and researchers to turn ideas into production systems.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Excellent C++ development and server-side engineering skills.
• Experience building low-latency, real-time, high-throughput, distributed, or performance-critical systems.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, system design, data structures, and performance optimisation.
• A track record of solving difficult technical problems with high-quality engineering.
• Strong English communication skills.
• A genuine interest in technology beyond simply using familiar tools and frameworks.
• The ability to collaborate effectively while taking meaningful ownership.
