Key Highlights

Own and evolve Bitpanda’s detection library in Elastic Security (ES|QL/KQL)

Lead incident response, threat hunting, and automation to scale security operations

Improve cloud security monitoring, system hardening, and compliance (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, DORA)

Key Responsibilities

Own the strategy and quality of Bitpanda’s detection library in Elastic Security (ES|QL/KQL), designing high-fidelity detections mapped to real-world attacker techniques

Lead investigations into complex security incidents, proactively hunt for advanced threats across AWS, Elastic and Datadog, and refine response playbooks

Design and implement automated investigation, enrichment, and response workflows using SOAR, APIs, and custom tooling to reduce manual effort

Improve cloud security monitoring, system hardening, and security tooling across Bitpanda’s AWS environment

Partner with engineering teams to proactively eliminate risk and support compliance initiatives including ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and DORA

Act as a technical leader within the Security team, mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions, and champion security best practices

Participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24/7 security coverage
