Job Description

Company Overview

Holafly is a high-growth scale-up revolutionising how businesses and travellers connect to the internet abroad. Since 2018, we’ve empowered travellers in over 200 destinations worldwide with secure and reliable eSIM solutions. With a team of 800+ professionals across multiple countries, we are scaling globally to support travellers with seamless, unlimited data connectivity.

We’re not just connecting people—we’re enabling freedom and peace of mind, ensuring our users stay connected from the second they land, wherever their journey takes them.

The Role

As our Regional Manager of Network Operations for Europe, you will be the guardian of our service continuity across the region, orchestrating the end-to-end restoration of critical telecommunications and technology incidents. Your expertise ensures that our regional network remains resilient, specifically focusing on European, Middle Eastern, and African carriers to directly impact the "peace of mind" we promise to our travellers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end incident lifecycle for Holafly’s global connectivity services, from detection and impact assessment through technical investigation, service restoration, customer recovery validation and closure.
  • Act as Incident Commander for major network incidents, coordinating L1/L2 teams, MNOs, IMSI providers, IPX/GRX partners and core-network vendors while maintaining clear technical ownership until resolution.
  • Lead and develop a team of 5–10 Network Operations engineers, providing technical mentoring, escalation guidance, performance management and ensuring strong operational readiness across the team.
  • Maintain deep technical ownership of live roaming and core-network services, including Diameter/DRA/HSS, GTP-C/GTP-U, PGW/PCRF, APN/DNS, IPX/GRX, routing, Local Breakout and 4G/5G connectivity, with the ability to independently analyse traces, logs and network behaviour.
  • Drive RCA, Problem Management and permanent corrective actions for major and recurring incidents, ensuring root causes are identified, vendor responses are challenged where required, and preventive improvements are completed.
  • Own network performance, monitoring and operational improvement, using KPIs such as first-attach success, session-establishment success, latency, packet loss, throughput, availability and MTTR, while ensuring seamless follow-the-sun handover between regional teams.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Mobile Telecommunications, with strong exposure to Core Network, International Roaming, Packet Core, IMSI/SIM technologies, IPX/GRX and mobile data services.
  • Strong technical knowledge of LTE/4G and 5G NSA/SA roaming architectures, including Diameter/DRA/HSS, GTP-C/GTP-U, PGW/PCRF, APN/DNS, routing and Local Breakout environments.
  • Proven experience leading major network incidents and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to analyse signalling traces, PCAPs, logs and network KPIs and drive incidents through restoration, RCA and permanent corrective action.
  • Previous people-management experience, ideally leading a Network Operations, NOC, Core Network or Incident Management team of approximately 5–10 engineers, with responsibility for mentoring, performance and technical development.
  • Strong understanding of IP networking and roaming connectivity, including BGP, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, NAT, IPX/GRX, Diameter and associated troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills in English, with the ability to coordinate global MNOs, IMSI providers, IPX/core vendors and internal teams, challenge technical responses and communicate complex incidents clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Certifications in AWS, Cisco, or Project Management (PMP/Agile).
  • Knowledge of eSIM orchestration and GSMA standards.

What We Offer

  • 100% Remote & Flexible Culture: Work from anywhere with a high level of trust and ownership in Europe.
  • Global Scale & Impact: Directly shape the connectivity experience for millions of international travelers worldwide.
  • Growth & Innovation: Opportunity to lead 5G transformation and cloud-native telecom architecture at a fast-scaling tech enterprise.
  • Competitive Package: Benchmark-aligned salary, performance bonuses, health coverage, and professional learning stipends.

During a trip to Thailand, Pedro and Lidia, the founders of Holafly, experienced the frustration of not having an internet connection.

Inspired by their own experiences, they came up with a simple but brilliant idea: why not allow travellers to buy data plans for any destination from their home country?

Our passion for providing easy and convenient connectivity to travellers around the world drives everything we do.

We love our work and we do it with pride. Stay connected wherever you go.
