Key Responsibilities

Own and evolve the shared platform layer across critical systems, including cloud infrastructure, databases, CI/CD, source control, integrations, and core product services.

Establish reusable infrastructure patterns, conventions, and abstractions that allow engineers to interact with complex systems consistently and confidently.

Design, build, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on reliability, security, performance, and developer experience.

Develop foundational backend services in Ruby on Rails, including capabilities related to authorization and RBAC, jobs and queues, deployments, integrations, and other shared services.

Own infrastructure and platform capabilities supporting identity and access management, health information exchange, electronic medical records, integrations, and application services.

Identify infrastructure and engineering bottlenecks and turn manual or repetitive processes into reliable, self-service workflows that improve developer productivity.

Build platform capabilities that can scale alongside growing engineering teams, products, integrations, and infrastructure without introducing operational constraints.

Partner with product and engineering teams to understand their needs and deliver shared capabilities that accelerate development and improve reliability.

Define technical standards and architectural conventions that provide a strong foundation for other engineers and teams.

Participate in production operations, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and continuous improvements to the reliability and resilience of critical systems.
