We’re looking for a Test Automation Engineer to help build and scale the testing infrastructure behind complex hardware and software systems. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving difficult engineering problems, building tools from scratch, and turning complex real-world behaviour into robust, repeatable automated tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve our internal test automation platform, built with Python and Pytest
• Build and scale Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing infrastructure, tightly integrated with CI
• Develop orchestration tools that automate complete user workflows, from boot through to swarm deployment
• Design systems that enable automated demos across commercial and operational scenarios
• Integrate new hardware into the test platform smoothly and reliably

• Work closely with software engineering and product teams to create systems that improve speed, scale and reliability
• Build automation capable of replicating complex real-world system behaviour

Experience

You might come from test automation, software engineering, hardware, embedded systems or systems engineering. Your background matters less than your ability to build robust systems and your belief that great testing is fundamental to great products.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Strong proficiency in Python
• A strong interest in test automation, particularly around physical or hardware-adjacent systems
• A systems mindset and an ability to understand and automate complex behaviours

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with HIL testing or embedded development environments
• Strong Linux, Docker and system-level service orchestration experience
• Knowledge of networks, distributed systems or custom hardware
• Experience integrating hardware and software into automated test environments
• An interest in autonomy, robotics or safety-critical software
