Senior System Engineer (Japanese Bilingual Preferred)

Location: Houston, TX (Downtown)

Employment Type: Full-time / Direct Hire (Exempt)

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 annually

Annual Target Bonus: 10%

Language: Japanese fluency is strongly preferred.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, and project management.

This role focuses primarily on server infrastructure and cloud solutions rather than traditional networking. The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading enterprise infrastructure modernization initiatives, including migrations from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure and other modern cloud platforms.

In addition to technical expertise, this position requires strong consulting skills, client-facing communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent infrastructure projects while supporting the Division Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Division Leadership (10%)

• Support the Division Manager in achieving departmental objectives
• Lead strategic initiatives and internal improvement projects
• Assist in managing multiple customer engagements simultaneously

IT Infrastructure Consulting (40%)

• Provide IT infrastructure consulting for M&A projects
• Assess client environments and recommend modernization strategies
• Analyze business processes and existing IT environments
• Prepare technical proposals and solution recommendations
• Conduct technology assessments and competitive analysis
• Build strong relationships with clients across all organizational levels
• Ensure compliance with IT standards, security policies, and best practices

Project Management (30%)

Lead enterprise infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.

Responsibilities include:

• Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements
• Develop project schedules, WBS, and project documentation
• Manage budgets and resource allocation
• Coordinate customers, vendors, and internal project teams
• Track project progress, risks, and issue resolution
• Present project status and recommendations to stakeholders
• Ensure quality and successful project delivery

Typical projects include:

• On-premises server migration to Microsoft Azure
• Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Intune deployment
• SD-WAN and SASE implementation
• Endpoint Security (EDR/MDR)
• Business Continuity (BCP) / Disaster Recovery (DR)
• Active Directory and Windows Server infrastructure
• Enterprise File Server, DHCP, DNS, Radius, Monitoring Server implementation

Systems Engineering & Operations (20%)

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure solutions
• Manage Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS) environments
• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune
• Configure and maintain Windows Server environments
• Manage Active Directory and core infrastructure services
• Maintain ERP platforms and historical data
• Perform system performance assessments and security audits
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers

Qualifications

Required

• 10+ years of Systems Engineering and Infrastructure Project Management experience
• Strong experience leading enterprise infrastructure and cloud migration projects
• Hands-on experience with:
• Microsoft Azure
• Microsoft 365
• Entra ID
• Intune
• Windows Server
• Active Directory
• Excellent project management, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
• Strong customer-facing consulting experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred

• Japanese language proficiency is strongly preferred but not required
• Candidates who are fluent in English and have demonstrated success working in multicultural and global business environments are also encouraged to apply.
