Full-time Product Owner - Payments

FP Markets Group of Companies is a well-established multi-regulated broker, founded in Australia, offering traders access to CFD trading on Forex, Indices, Commodities, Stocks and Cryptocurrencies. We are growing and looking to recruit a Full-time Product Owner - Payments in the Cyprus office - a certified Great Place to Work®.

As a Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in communicating the product vision, understanding market dynamics, and collaborating with our teams to deliver innovative payment flows and solutions.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a growing product area, shape its roadmap, and work closely with stakeholders and development teams to ensure that payment solutions meet both business and customer needs.

Reporting to: Head of Product

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with stakeholders, managers, users, and the development team to maintain clarity around the payment product vision and ensure alignment with business objectives
• Conduct thorough market research and analyze customer needs, staying up to date with new payment products, industry developments, and emerging market trends
• Continuously review business needs, refine priorities, define deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks
• Own, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, balancing business requirements, customer needs, and available resources
• Translate the product roadmap into well-defined product requirements, including features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and expected outcomes
• Collect and analyze business needs and translate them into clear business requirements for the development team
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimization across payment flows and related operations
• Define and track key metrics to measure operational effectiveness and product performance
• Understand, monitor, and manage risks, dependencies, and interdependencies with other teams and projects
• Maintain clear visibility over product scope, delivery timelines, priorities, and quality throughout the development lifecycle
• Work closely with development and relevant stakeholders to ensure functionality is delivered according to requirements and is ready for production
• Support the continuous improvement of payment products, processes, and customer journeys
  

Candidate profile:

Product Management

• Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or in a similar product-focused role
• Strong understanding of product development lifecycle, from identifying business needs through to production delivery
• Experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs based on business value and customer needs

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align business and technical teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, data-driven approach

Payments & Market Understanding

• Strong interest in the payments industry and understanding of payment products, flows, and customer journeys
• Ability to conduct market research and identify emerging payment trends and opportunities
• Understanding of operational processes and the ability to identify gaps and optimization opportunities
• Experience working with fintech, financial services, brokerage, or payment products is a strong advantage

Delivery & Processes

• Experience working closely with development teams in an Agile environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines
• Experience defining acceptance criteria and validating functionality against business requirements
• Strong attention to detail and ownership of product quality through to production
• Ability to establish and track KPIs and metrics related to product and operational effectiveness

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, online trading, brokerage, or payments
• Experience working with payment service providers, payment gateways, or alternative payment methods
• Understanding of payment operations, transaction flows, and customer payment journeys
• Experience with process optimization and operational product development
• Experience working in a regulated financial services environment
