Rust Protocol Engineer - Blockchain
Axiom is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Protocol (Rust) to join one of the most influential engineering teams building Ethereum Layer 2 infrastructure.
If your background spans Rust, Ethereum, distributed systems, and protocol engineering, this is a role where your work can have ecosystem-wide impact.

Our client is a heavily funded blockchain infrastructure company building an open-source technology stack that powers Layer 2 activity on Ethereum. ts technology is used by hundreds of organisations, from major enterprises and exchanges to leading DeFi protocols and emerging blockchain ecosystems.
Backed by $100M in funding, the company combines the resources of an established business with the technical ambition of a protocol team solving some of Ethereum’s hardest infrastructure challenges.
What You’ll Be Building
You’ll join the Protocol Team, building core Rust-based consensus infrastructure and new protocol features. You’ll own complex features from architecture through to production.

Key responsibilities include:
- Build production-grade blockchain infrastructure in Rust
- Own protocol features end to end, from design to production
- Work on Ethereum clients, consensus, and distributed systems
- Lead safe upgrades, testing, reliability, and performance improvements
- Shape new protocol capabilities, including native account abstraction
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of senior/staff-level engineering experience
- Strong hands-on production Rust expertise
- Deep knowledge of Ethereum, EVM, JSON-RPC, and clients
- Strong background in distributed systems and blockchain infrastructure
- Experience with Rust Ethereum clients, Go, or Solidity smart contracts would be a strong advantage.
