Role Overview

As a Cyber Security Intern, you will support security operations by assisting with threat monitoring, vulnerability assessments, security analysis, and the implementation of cyber security best practices. You will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard security tools, frameworks, and methodologies while contributing to real-world cyber security projects.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in cyber security, ethical hacking, digital security, and information protection.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote team environment.


Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Understanding of cyber security fundamentals and common security threats.
  • Basic knowledge of authentication, encryption, identity and access management concepts.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and security monitoring principles.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn modern cyber security tools, technologies, and best practices.


Preferred Skills

  • Basic understanding of SIEM platforms and security monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and web application security concepts.
  • Basic scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of cloud security concepts across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, or the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) Essential Eight is an advantage.
  • Understanding of incident response, risk management, and security governance principles.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
