The Role

My client is looking for an experienced penetration testing leader who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to lead teams, build client relationships and deliver high-quality security testing.

You'll oversee complex penetration testing engagements across government and commercial clients, providing technical leadership, mentoring consultants and helping shape the growth of the practice. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance technical delivery with commercial awareness and client engagement.

This is a fully remote position, with occasional travel to client sites and team meetings as required. The salary is up to £100,000, depending on experience.

What You'll Do

  • Lead penetration testing engagements from scoping through to delivery.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance.

  • Manage project delivery, budgets and client relationships.
  • Support business development through proposals and client meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement across services and methodologies.

About You

You'll have:

  • Extensive penetration testing experience, including CHECK or equivalent government-accredited testing.
  • Strong knowledge of NCSC and CREST schemes (e.g. CHECK, xBEST, STAR).
  • Experience leading technical teams and managing client engagements.
  • Excellent technical, communication and report writing skills.
  • A genuine passion for offensive security and helping clients improve their cyber resilience.

Desirable

  • CREST CCT-App, CCT-Inf or CSTL-App certification.
  • Experience with NCSC assurance schemes, secure environments or security research.
  • Active involvement in the wider cyber security community.

Requirements

  • CREST CCSAS (or working towards it).
  • Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC); DV is advantageous.
